World Down Syndrome Day 2026 Webinar Series

Special Needs Initiative for Growth, in partnership with the Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria, is organizing a webinar series to commemorate World Down Syndrome Day 2026.
The theme of this year’s webinar is Advancing the Workforce Opportunities of Individuals with Disabilities. The session is designed to explore practical ways to reduce barriers to workforce access, strengthen entrepreneurial thinking, and support the mental wellbeing of persons with disabilities in the world of work.

The webinar will feature Rasak Adekoya, Global Technical Advisor, speaking on Navigating the Workforce as a PWD: Overcoming Obstacles and Achieving Success. Toluwase Olaniyan, Executive Director of EGO Foundation, will speak on Building an Entrepreneurial Mindset in PWDs: Strategies for Success. Itunu Ogundiyun, Child and Adolescent Therapist, will speak on Mental Health and Resilience: Strategies for PWDs to Thrive in the Workforce.
The event will also include self-advocates sharing their own workforce experiences and different ways they have navigated them. They are Ejiro Ajaborun, Victor Uche Odogwu, Awele Mordi, Divine Adyeye, Favour Jideonwor, and Oluwakemi Odunsanya.

The webinar will hold on Monday, March 23rd 2026 at 12 noon via Zoom.
